TESTOSTERONE REPLACEMENT
THERAPY
RENO, NV
At The Beauty & Wellness Collective in Reno, we offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for men experiencing symptoms that may be related to low testosterone. TRT uses prescription testosterone to supplement hormone levels when symptoms and testing support a diagnosis of testosterone deficiency. You’ll work with a provider who has specialized training in hormone therapy to review your symptoms, health history, fertility goals, and recent lab work before recommending whether TRT makes sense for you.
Potential Benefits of TRT
Testosterone replacement therapy may help improve symptoms associated with clinically low testosterone, or low T, including reduced libido, lower energy, loss of muscle mass or strength, and certain changes in sexual function.
For appropriately diagnosed patients, TRT may also support bone health and help address anemia related to testosterone deficiency.
How you respond depends on your symptoms, the cause of low testosterone, and your individual treatment plan.
Your provider considers your symptoms, health history, medications, fertility goals, and lab work together before determining whether testosterone replacement therapy makes sense for you. Your evaluation may consider:
➤ Symptoms and how they’re affecting your daily life
➤ Testosterone levels and other relevant lab results
➤ Medications and health conditions that may affect testosterone
➤ Fertility plans and other treatment considerations
What does the
TRT treatment
process look like?
TRT at The Beauty & Wellness Collective begins with a medical evaluation and continues with regular follow-up care. You’ll work with a provider who has specialized training in hormone therapy and will review your symptoms, health history, and lab work before determining whether testosterone replacement therapy is appropriate for you.
-
New TRT patients should call us at (775) 451-7480. One of our patient care coordinators will help schedule your appointment and explain what to bring, what lab work is needed, and what to expect before your visit.
-
You’ll need routine labs completed within the past year. If you already have recent labs, your nurse practitioner can review them and determine whether additional testosterone or hormone-related testing is needed. If you don’t have recent labs, we can draw your blood in our office and send it for testing, or provide the paperwork needed to complete lab work at a lab of your choice.
Additional testosterone testing may be required to confirm low testosterone before treatment begins. -
During your initial TRT consultation, your provider will review your symptoms, health history, medications, fertility goals, and lab results. Additional testing may be recommended before treatment begins. If TRT makes sense for you, your provider will discuss an appropriate treatment plan and what ongoing monitoring will involve.
-
TRT patients are seen every three months for ongoing monitoring, symptom review, lab review when needed, and adjustments to treatment over time.

TRT cost
in Reno, NV?

Testosterone replacement therapy, or TRT, uses prescription testosterone to supplement hormone levels in men with testosterone deficiency, often called low testosterone or low T. You may also hear age-related testosterone changes described as “andropause” or “male menopause”.
TRT is considered when symptoms and blood testing together support testosterone deficiency. The goal is to bring testosterone into an appropriate range and address symptoms related to low levels, rather than simply increasing testosterone as much as possible.
-
Low testosterone can be associated with reduced sex drive, erectile changes, lower energy, loss of muscle mass or strength, difficulty concentrating, changes in mood, reduced sperm production, and changes in body composition. Some men may also notice fewer spontaneous erections or increased body fat.
These symptoms aren’t specific to low testosterone and can have other causes, including medications, sleep disorders, obesity, and other health conditions. That’s why symptoms alone aren’t enough to diagnose low T. Your provider will consider how you’re feeling alongside appropriate blood testing and your overall health history. -
TRT may be appropriate for men who have symptoms consistent with testosterone deficiency along with consistently low testosterone levels on appropriate testing. Your provider will also consider your health history, medications, fertility plans, other possible causes of your symptoms, and any conditions that could affect the safety of treatment.
-
TRT may improve sexual desire and certain aspects of sexual function. Treatment can also increase lean muscle mass, support bone density, and help correct anemia related to testosterone deficiency. Some patients may notice improvements in energy, mood, or overall well-being, although response varies.
Your provider will talk with you about which symptoms are reasonably likely to respond to TRT and will monitor whether treatment is actually making a meaningful difference for you.
-
Different effects of testosterone therapy develop at different rates. Some men with testosterone deficiency may notice changes in sexual desire, energy, or mood within the first several weeks. Changes in lean muscle mass, strength, and body composition generally take longer and may begin to become noticeable after several months. Sexual function can also continue to change over a longer period.
These timelines aren’t guarantees. Your response depends on your starting testosterone levels, symptoms, health, and treatment plan. Your three-month follow-up appointments give your provider an opportunity to review both symptoms and relevant lab work and determine whether any changes are needed.
-
Testosterone replacement therapy can be appropriate for properly evaluated and monitored patients, but it isn’t right for everyone. Possible side effects can include acne, fluid retention, increased red blood cell levels, and reduced sperm production. Testosterone can also increase blood pressure, which is another reason ongoing medical monitoring matters.
Your provider will review your health history and relevant lab work before treatment and continue monitoring you while you’re on TRT. Certain health conditions or risk factors may require additional evaluation or make testosterone therapy inappropriate.
-
Low testosterone can affect libido, spontaneous erections, and other aspects of sexual function. TRT may improve sexual desire and can improve some sexual-function concerns over time.
-
Not necessarily. Some men remain on testosterone replacement therapy long-term, while the appropriate duration for others depends on why their testosterone is low, how well treatment is working, side effects, and changes in their health or goals.
-
TRT may support changes in body composition for men with appropriately diagnosed low testosterone. Testosterone plays a role in muscle mass and fat distribution, and treatment may help increase lean muscle mass and reduce fat mass over time. For some patients, those changes can support broader weight-management goals, especially when paired with nutrition, exercise, sleep, and other healthy habits.
